The people we walk alongside are not case studies. Their safety and dignity come before our storytelling.
Our commitments
- We ask permission before we tell someone’s story, and we accept “no” without negotiation.
- We do not photograph or name children, or anyone in crisis, for fundraising purposes.
- We do not diagnose, treat, or promise outcomes. Where professional help is needed, we connect people to it.
- We record concerns responsibly and keep them confidential, accessible only to the steward responsible for safeguarding.
- Volunteers and stewards work within clear boundaries, and those boundaries are reviewed rather than assumed.
If something is wrong
If you have witnessed or experienced something that concerns you — conduct, harm, dishonesty, or the misuse of a gift — please tell us. You may give your name, or you may remain anonymous. Anonymous reports are recorded without any reporter details being stored at all.
If someone is in immediate danger, please contact the South African Police Service on 10111 first. We are not an emergency service.
