Dear uManitarians,
Someone can deserve compassion and still be required to respect another person's boundaries, safety, dignity and rights. Both of those sentences are true at the same time.
When we forget the second one, we do not become kinder. We simply move the harm to somebody quieter.
Mercy says: you remain human. Accountability says: so does everybody you hurt.
